What we collect
We collect your email address for account creation, your Twitch @handle to generate your site, and any customizations you make to your AuraHype page (colors, layouts, links). If fans subscribe to your notifications, we collect their emails too.
We also collect basic analytics like page views and referrer data to keep the service running smoothly. If you connect via OAuth, we receive your Twitch user ID and follower count (if authorized).
Twitch data specifically
We pull public data from Twitch's API—your display name, bio, avatar, live status, and schedule. This is data Twitch already makes public on your channel page.
If you choose to connect your Twitch account via OAuth for the exact follower count feature, we specifically request only the moderator:read:followers scope. This lets us display your real-time follower count, but we cannot moderate your chat, read whispers, or access any private account settings. You control this connection and can revoke it anytime via Twitch or AuraHype settings.
Fan emails
When someone drops their email on your AuraHype site, it's locked to your account only. We use it solely to send them notifications about your streams and updates you choose to share through our platform.
We never sell, rent, or trade fan emails to third parties. Each streamer's email list is completely isolated—no cross-promotion or data sharing between creators. Fans can unsubscribe with one click, and we'll delete their data immediately upon request.
Cookies/analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and functional cookies to remember your preferences (like dark mode). We also use basic analytics (like Google Analytics or similar privacy-focused alternatives) to see how the site performs—no shady tracking, just standard web metrics to help us improve.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, but some features might not work correctly without them. We don't use cookies to track you across the web.
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we purge your personal data within 30 days, though some anonymized analytics might stick around for statistical purposes only.
Fan emails are deleted when they unsubscribe, when you delete your account, or if your site remains inactive for over 24 months. We keep backup logs for security purposes for up to 90 days, then they're purged automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (EU, California, etc.), you have rights to access, correct, port, or delete your data. You can export your site data or delete your account from your dashboard, or email us at aura@aurahype.com and we'll help you out manually.
We respect GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws. If you're in the EU, we process data under the "legitimate interest" basis for service operation and "consent" for marketing (which we only send if you explicitly opt in).
